Leather strop is used at the very end of the sharpening process to remove the remainder of the burr from the blade. It will give a blade that extra-fine/smooth sharpness. Nothing puts that final edge on a knife better than a leather strop. One-sided leather strop features a suede ("coarser") side of the leather.

For an even better result and higher polish, we highly recommend applying Koyo "Green Rouge" polishing compound to your leather strop.
